At the origin, kriging is a statistical technique proposed in 1951 by Krige [15] for natural resource evaluation. Later, Matheron [l] established the mathematical foundation of the method. As presented in the mathematical framework of geostatistics, kriging is simply the best linear unbiased estimator of a random function. Dual kriging was later formulated by Matheron [16] together with the equivalence with spline interpolation.
